On Tuesday, Apple posted record quarterly revenues from April to June thanks to brisk sales of its new multimedia tablet computer, the iPad. The US IT manufacturer said that its sales revenue was worth $15.7 billionĀ up 61% from the same time in 2009. It also said that net profit jumped 78% to $3.25 billion.
The company attributed the results to vigorous quarterly sales of the iPad, which has moved 3.27 million units since its global rollout began in the US in April. Apple also added that sales of the company’s smart phone, iPhone 4 that released in late June, were also stronger than over the same period in 2009 at about 8.4 million units.
Last week, however, Apple admitted the latest iPhone 4 model has a reception problem and offered free countermeasures. US magazine Consumer Reports is recommending consumers prevent the model. Attention is focused on whether the reported problem will harm booming sales.
